I am suspect of the color on the coins. I personally don't think they are original BWR from the 40's and would love to crack them open to see if I got a good deal or if I got taken for a ride. Just like today, rolled coins have all kids of circulated coins inside, so you never know, it may have Buffalos and V nickels in it too. Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
Judging from the picture of the end cap coin, it shouldn't be too difficult to undo the tucked in paper and keep the roll paper itself intact. Open it............
Take as much photos as you can prior to opening it. Of course make sure you have a lot of cushion just in case any nice coins roll out.
If the coin looks like the photo below it will be deemed questionably toned by both NGC and PCGS. If the coin looks like the photo below, it will most likely grade MS67* by NGC and might pay for the entire roll. Because the end coins are so dramatically toned, you should open the roll, search for premium gems and full step gems and submit any that you find along with the two end toners. I would expect that the interior coins be brilliant and untoned. They key to making money on this roll is to get the toners into TPG plastic. It really comes down to the originality of the toning. If this is a scam, and it could be, I would expect to find very generic looking BU's in the rest of the roll. But if either of the toners grades, it really won't matter. Paul
I'm probably stating the obvious but, another good reason to open that roll is to make sure that you don't have a whole gaggle of washers, spacers, or non's........
From the looks of those colors and if it grades ms-66 with full steps or better ...it might pay for the cost of the roll and the rest is all profit
In my experience with toners, these look very original. I Actually found a penny roll from 1935 with the same exact roll and wrapping type. I may open her up sometime next week. I will keep you guys and girls posted on what I find. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1935-S-OBW-...45?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item41778e506d
Of course you're aware you can still buy that type of wrap. http://www.ebay.com/itm/COIN-COLLEC...801?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c39788841
