How much would you expect one of these to cost? Thinking of trying a few coin shows and I'll need one of these
Pretty much every single coin show, small/local and national-level both, will rent you coin cases for a nominal fee (like $10 - $15 each), along with lamps. I would recommend going that route, especially if you're just going to try it out and aren't fully committed yet!
Because of the design (if I am looking at it right) this one may be more of a pain than it's worth if you're wanting to use for shows. Just pick up a few Allstates, or as the lady said, rent if available, but be sure to check first as not all small/local shows do. Also, some small/local monthly shows require tables to be rented for the year, so this too may be worth asking about if you're planning on buying cases.
And you can always use the "Wanted" category on CraigsList too - free. I'd say that you will pay cash, or trade coins for a suitable case, then you're getting rid of something you wanted to sell anyway. Don't overlook stamp clubs either, as stamp dealers often use the same type of case. If there's a stamp club nearby, go as a guest and stand up and tell the members what you want to buy. You also want a case that opens TOWARD you, instead of sideways or toward the aisle. If you build one (which I don't recommend), don't use window glass or it will break the first time out.
Lol alright found that on on Craigslist for $85. Didn't know if that was a good price. I see it's not.
The issue is more that the design is not satisfactory for holding coins, nor convenient (or secure) for a coin show, regardless of the price. We got ya covered - next question?
