I see some kind of split in the first and last "S" of States. And also in one of the leaves. Thank a lot for your help.
There is no doubling on either of the S's, and considering the poor condition of the coin, I would guess that the leaf is machine doubling. Chris
in morgans its called vams, see if any of theses match your coin, good luck http://www.vamworld.com/1903-S+VAMs
Rick. Hope I can see you next Sunday in the coin show. T here's another beautiful split above the mint mark where the arrow is pointing. But also I believe there's in the Oberse a Die clash.
NO QUESTIONS ABOUT. There's a DDR in this one. In the Word AMERICA. The wide of the second column of the first "A" is less than .020. But the Wide of the second column of the second "A" is .025 You can see this difference by eye (looking at the triangular Hole of each "A".
make sure you check the date, and the mint mark too, then go though the vams for that year, and match everything up, and you will have your vam number
This is what I've found so far, vam #7 slanted date, s tilted left heres the link http://www.vamworld.com/1903-S VAM-7
Rick. The VAN 7 does not have the "EXTRA OLIVE". VAM 5 may be. Now the question. Do they have all ready all the VAMS?
Remember that VAMs do not all representing abnormalities like CPG, they are more die pairs. So many will have no or very little collector demand just due to that. Only the very exceptional VAMs will have increased value, such as the Top 50, 100 etc.
ok, back to the topic, this is what I see, the date, and the mintmark, make up, either #5 or#7, now check the rest of the vams for your add ons, or markers: olives, branches, etc
Besides having similarities with VAM 5 and VAM 7. This one "also" has a clear DDR. I was looking for you in Farmingdale the past Sunday to show it. But there was "No Coins Show". They have something like Fishing show. Any way about the DDR I'm sure.
