1969 error? Last pic maybe what went wrong?

    its a coin feeder error, and the 83 has a small cud error

    Just PMD. As you seem to realize someone put another cent on it and hit it causing the rim to dent the 69-D.

    As Conder said, the 69 is just damaged and as Rick pointed out, the 83 has a cud. Nice find on that 83.

    I did a test with 2 coins And when I hit them the text transfers The 69 has no extra text And I hit the one I did real hard BUT It did not go as deep as the 69 So I think im gonna hang on 2 this one Just sayin

    when first starting out learning about error or variety coins it don't hurt to hang onto your suspicous coins until you learn more then the ones that are no good can be discarded. At the mint coins are struck with a band around the coin planchets called a retaining collar . when a damaged coin is found that was struck in the collar with coin metal that is out beyound the rim of the coin this usually confirms it as PMD.
