Two 1961 MS66 FT/FB sold this past year for $100 each on Great Collections. They always have a big inventory of Roosevelt dimes and almost no one bids on them. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Actually it has a different problem for me. I'm an old guy and stuck back in the days when blast white was the desired "toning". I've got a couple in the set that have light peripheral toning but overall toning, particularly rainbow, doesn't do it for me. On the other hand I'm approaching the point where even that is acceptable. I did find one of the two I need in Collectors Corner. I think someone above pointed it out. Anyway I can't start a new series until I finish at least one of my current interests. Right now I'm working on: -- Silver Roosevelt dimes in MS-66 FT (the one we're talking about now) -- IHC's in MS-63 or better (4 to go) -- Braided Hair large cents in VF or better (8 to go) In line to become my new interest are one of the following: -- nickel 3-cents -- Shield nickels -- Liberty V nickels I like short series since completion seems reachable. No way will I try any of the Seated or Barber issues. And there's still a few more affordable coins to get for my type set.
By my standards it is. The only reasons I'm doing IHC's is because: -- I'm getting all of them from one quality dealer, and -- I started the set before I decided to stick with the shorter sets. And I'm in the process of selling off any of my sets that aren't completely slabbed. The Morgans are about gone. Buffalo nickels will be next. And my Lincolns will probably follow. The only reason I not selling off my Jeffersons is that there is not much value there.
