Did you sit in on potters speech, he was using some of my coins for his show, most was on staging, he knows I know a lot on that topic
Unfortunately I didn't. We only had a couple of hours and my wife was just humoring me by being there. Hopefully next time I'll be able to see and do a little more.
I looked for coins on sunday, seen a 1888 over 7 Indian Cent, but wasn't the real deal, had my ike dollars looked at, that were a big hit, I sent thoses off to IDDD, I also gave Mr. Potter a 2013 Lincoln Cent (wexler DDO-004) for his presentation, which I think was used for staging, not sure wasn't there, but he new what DDO the coin was, it had a nice die chip on the shield, which makes new staging for that DDO, heres a photo of the chip
There was one guy that did get us mad, potter was doing his speech, and this guy wanted potter to look at his coins, jim told him he would look at them, but he wanted potter to look at them, all were loose die, when we left, me and jim laugh our butts off
If Dan Brown is writing this story, the 1964 dollars would be a conspiracy between the Masons and the Vatican.
I spoke with Ken Bresett back in 2008 about the 64-D and he said he once spoke to a Mint employee who told him one had rolled away under a machine and remained there for years because no one wanted to touch it. One day, the story goes, a couple Secret Service agents came and retrieved it, and that was then end of that.
