Except for one or two, I haven't looked closely at any of these nor attempted attribution. I'll probably do that over the holidays. If you see anything that looks unusual or deserves quicker attention, please let me know
Here's one from the group which I did attribute. The color and metal caught my eye-- looks like debased silver or billion. Or is it plated/coated? Magnentius AE centenionalis Trier mint 350-353 AD. 22 mm, 5.9 gm Obv: IM CAE MAGN ENTIVS AVG, draped & cuirassed bust right Rev: FELICITAS REIPVBLICAE, Magnentius standing left, holding Victory on globe & labarum. A in right field. TRP in exergue. Ref: RIC VIII 264, Trier
The other Magnentius, the Chi Rho, is a much scarcer piece. One of these in high grade is pretty large money nowadays, (Doug Smith has one in his avatar pic).
Hi TIF => hey, thanks for posting the rest of your coins (I have followed all of your threads to-date, so this was a useful summary/conclusion to your treasure chest series!!) .... in the end, I really liked the lot!! (thanks again for sharing)
a few other interesting one in there. the style of that large fallen horsemen looks different, large vot wreaths are cool...i like those.
I wish my folly's were as bad as yours. These look like some nice pieces. I know some people who have been looking for a nice large Magnentius Chi Rho at affordable prices. I think you did quite well.
