Is this a real die mark? If so what would be a ball park worth?

I have an 1818 US Penny with a strange die mark on the top front of the coin shaped like an O
Has anyone else seen anything like this? Is it for real? Any info of origin and worth would be appreciated.

The coin is real. the big O is where someone started making a hole in the coin, probably to put it on a necklace, which was common in the mid 1800's, apparently. Unfortunately for you, the coin is beat up plus damaged with the start of the hole, so it would be considered 'cull' and not worth more than $5.

Also, i think it might be an 1848.

Is an 1848 with significant damage what you see is either where someone tried to drill it or where someone tried to solder something on it
