    Since there is so much talk about VAMs, I couldn't resist posting this. It will either open some eyes, or start some discussions. Either way, the following article was written by a highly respected and noted expert on Morgan dollars and their varieties - Pete R. Bishal, also know as "danutt".

    I'll tell you all up front, this is a dead web site. None of the links contained are active any longer, so don't bother clicking on them. And don't bother trying to contact Pete, he is no longer with us - he passed away a few years ago and is greatly missed by those who knew him.

    But the man knew his coins, and would often leave other well known experts stuttering in exasperation after a discussion with him. So read the following article, you'll get an education. However, it may not be the one you wanted to get ;)

    Works for me, but with virtually no interest in US coins, it's boooooooooooorrrrrrrrrring. :vanish:

    Fascinating. Its amazing at what a little detective work and some good analytical thinking can do.
