I'm new to Large Cents, but I think that's where I want to go with my collecting next.

Waiting for my Cent Book, so I don't know the variety for this coin, can anyone attribute it for me?

Don't know if I'm looking at XF or AU on this coin, thinking it needs a little bit of cleaning, but a sharp looking coin!

what do you think it grades as?

I'll go 45 or 50. Nice cent. I love this color on copper.

I think it would depend on the day and the grader. It's at the very least a high XF, but you may even get into the low AU range. On a good day, maybe even an AU55?

I wouldn't clean it I just see a touch of wear on the highest points I'd say au 55

Based on the detail, I'd give it an AU grade all day long.

I think it's AU too. As far as cleaning, I wouldn't mess with it. If you can't live with the way it looks find one you like better. There are lots of collectors that would take it as it is.

I didn't mean clean clean, was thinking some Verdi-care to get rid of the verdigris.

Just think it'd pop more with details if that was gone.

I think it's beautiful as it is, just thought it might help a little.

I'd be chicken to attempt anything. That dark chocolate patina took close to 200 years to develop and once it's gone, well............

I don't feel this coin is a good choice to work on.
It's nice just the way it is.
