This coin is close between a VG-10 and F-12 !!

VG 10. Just shy of Fine. Nice coin for an extremely difficult date.

At £173 for the 1895, the 1894 the 1901 and the indian bullion round I appear to have over spent despite the rarity...oh dear.

I wouldn't say you over spent. The '95 O looks like a strong VG-10, and with the solid rim, I think it has a decent shot at F-12. A graded '95-O in VG alone, usually goes for mid $200s (which is around what you paid).

I am more of an expert on Canadian and NFLD coins and can make quire a bit when selling but breaking even doesn't hold much appeal with the risk involved. I bought at £140 but buyer commission and postage kicked it up ( as usual).

Sometimes we worry too much about what a particular coin in a particular grade lists for in a price guide. Even if it is technically a VG grade I wouldn't have a problem paying fine money if it's a PQ VG.
In my opinion, that's about as nice a circulated example that you could hope to find in that grade. Virtually mark free with the right color. I like it.

I don't think you overspent. The 95o alone is worth what you paid--that is one of the most brutal dates in the Morgan series to find that looks nice, and that coin is a great pick up!! To find anything better, you would have had to pay twice to three times that amount--I really like the coin!!! Finding "keeper" coins in the 1893, 1894, and 1895 years are so rare--most of them are wildly overpriced, and not good looking for the money. You did well with that example--it is most attractive in grade.

Here is the 1894o but I didn't think this date, esp in this grade had much in the way of value....$40-50? Thanks for the positive comments about the 1895o Morgandude11.

The 1895 O came back ANACS VG10 as did the 94 O........ANACS certainly isn't a push over and they were very tough with all the coins I sent to them.

I think ANACS is doing their best to restore their reputation as a top tier grader. Their grading appears to have gotten tighter recently.

Marbury, nice Morgans! Spending a little <$300 on these three is not over spending. The BIGGEST key is whether you like them or not. IMO, if you find a coin you really like and is in the high end of the grade, you should expect to pay some premium. I've paid premiums for coins that I absolutely wanted, like the one in my avatar.
