I agree totally on the high relief st gaudens is one of my top 3 coin designs of all time only behind the draped bust and the flowing hair (Gobrecht dollar close behind) their beautiful is why it's the only 20th c coin I really have interest in this is the closest I got same year anyway
Amanda, that is a magnificent coin. The design, plus the extremely low mintage makes it extremely exclusive, yet attainable for many folks. St. Gs are beautiful coins to begins with and I like that holder better than the PCGS one.
How true and theirs so many wonderful coins I'd love to own some not due to rarity but to exceptional eye appeal too
Yup I'm not holing my breath I can win at poker but as far as luck goes if it wasn't for bad luck I'd have none at all
It is if you waste your life stumping through shows like Ahab and never find what your looking for. Unless of course you really find a "thrill in the hunt." I never did. The hunt to me is cause. It's the effect that matters.
Probably one of the original half dollar patterns. Barber's Silver Dollar design: (Judd 1525). The loser in the silver dollar race, but an awesome design. http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=1121&lotNo=1879 And, the eventual winner: Morgan's design: Judd 1510 http://coins.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=454&lotIdNo=149024
I've already got my 1907 StG Double Eagle High Relief (Wire Rim). But not the grade that was posted in here. Mine's an AU-50. But that's good enough for me.
O that would be good enough for me a great coin I'd be proud to own hopefully someday I just have other priorities first
This might sound funny but a PCGS Graded 1978-S Ike Proof Cameo. You might say big deal but PCGS only graded 24 in all grades in Cameo only, not DCAM. Not a very expensive coin (really cheap) but it is a rare condition coin. And it will complete my Ike set in Cameo only. It is a strange way to collect but being an active collector for over 40 years I have collected most all coins, this is a new way to collect and I don't have to win the lotto to have a complet set.
