Educate me please I'm not a currency guy but what is a North Africa note it looks like a regular silver cert to me what makes it special?
The color of the seal is the key. When the US troops were involved with WWII in North Africa fighting tank battles mostly, The notes were used to pay Military personnel for their service. And just like the Hawaii notes, if the Germans/Italians started winning the battles and take over the currency over there, the US can demonetize the note and have it declared worthless. The yellow seal was to make it easy to spot, much like the Hawaii notes and their burgundy(?) seal and HAWAII written on the notes. One I obtained last week as well. Kinda new.
Wow, that's something I did not know either. I thought I knew about WWII but this is completely new to me... my father served in North Africa too, later on when we got some airbases built there. Thanks Cazkaboom!
All these coins were plucked from circulation. Replated '81-D half with golden colored eagle: 1962-D silver Rooskie dime, complete with lots of patina: 1776-1976-S bicentennial 40% silver quarter:

Craigslist find. Bought a couple dozen mint & proof sets along with some quarter sets(gold, platinum, satin finishes) 1892-S dollar, some coins with stamps???? On pages and a 2005 $5 gold eagle, this was hiding in there! Seller only wanted $300 for the lot. I'm one happy camper!! First time I've seen one.
I hated the design of the Ben Franklin half until one night, I was working at the store and a customer spent a '52 and a '53. I fell in love instantly. The coins were in good shape but had lots of patina, which really sets the design off. I've since received another Franklin half since, and I love it too. My favorite thing about the Franklin half is the little eagle on the reverse and the story of why it is there. These half dollars are truly treasures.
1964 proof set with accented Kennedy and pointed tail 9 on the dime. Too bad there's milk spotting on the dime.
