Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. I joined because I have this 19xx Liberty Head Quarter. I do not know much about coins, however any help on its value would be appreciated. The date is worn off, but if I look through a loop I can make out a "18," I think. Thanks for your time, -Alex
When you figure out the date and grade, this would be a good start to ballpark price: http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/prices/stdqtr/pricesgd.shtml For rough grading, you can see here: http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#/SLQT1/Grades Looks like maybe around Good-6. So if you are correct about 1918-d, in Good 6, would be ~$30.00. Smarter people than me will probably chime in to help too.
Haha...wasn't looking to break the bank or anything, figured it couldn't be too expensive in the condition it was in.
The fact that it lacks a date precludes it from getting a (good) grade. Larger pics please! Hands off the 'thumbnail' button.........
Green18 has already pointed this out, but I will add to it. When SLQs lack the majority of their dates they become more difficult to sell and are typically net graded lower than the rest of their details would warrant. This makes the coin very tough to guesstimate as to a value since few folks would pay G4 or G6 money for an otherwise common SLQ with the date nearly gone. Nonetheless, it is still a nice coin.
Definitely one of our finest designs . As to price and grade I agree to what Green , Frank and Tom B. said . They know their coins .
