Is this a defect or part of the coins design? *pics*

I just recieved my 5oz America the Beautiful 5 oz Mt. Rushmore coin from the mint and there is a noticable mark by Washington's nose. I'm thinking this is a defect and not part of the coin's design. What do ya'll think?

It took a hit. That guy in the rigging can't fix it. Send it back for an exchange.

Save your postage receipt for a refund. They have a fax number for that.

Nice finish. Is it a Matte?

009 its the "P" puck from the US mint. It doesnt have that shiny finish like the bullion versions. It has more of a laser etched die look to it.

With the last issue, I had to return two before I got a keeper.

FYI - since it will help more than just me, I called Customer Service today (my Rushmore arrived today covered in milk spots and rim nicks) and they gave me some helpful information.

    Basically,

*You ship it back to them insured
*You send them a copy of your shipping receipt and a letter explaining why you are returning the item
*Their claims team "investigates" and then, if approved, they will reimburse your shipping costs by a check through the mail.

Since I didn't want to mail a letter, I asked if there was an email contact or fax number - you know, since it is 2013 and all - and they don't have email set up yet but there is a fax number:

    (317) 837-6950

Hopefully my second one ends up being nice - looks like a great coin.

Thanks rick. Thats the same fax number they gave me. I had a tough time getting that number to pick up so I just sent them a letter with the above information. I have been sucessful in the past in getting return shipping/insurance refunded. We shall see :)
