I want a nice Standing Liberty quarter and a Walking Liberty half. They only need to be uncirculated and well-struck; I don't care about MS 65 or anything like that. Year and mintmark are irrelevant. What are the lowest priced years and locations of mintage for these beautiful coins? What should I expect to pay for each coin?

A full answer would be too long for this venue.

Dig out your Red Book to determine what the common dates are.
Check eBay results for the cost of common date, uncirculated coins.

A check of current sales on Ebay will give you the information you are looking for.

Check the "Coin Values Index" in a current issue of Coin World.

Generally speaking, you would be looking for 1925-1930 SLQ and 1939-1947 Walkers. Of course there are earlier dates that are also common, but this range is mostly where you will find higher grade coins for the cheapest price. I agree with you, they are both hansom coins.

This is the type of question that should be easily answered by looking at completed ebay sales or the Red Book. The additional advantage of looking at either is that you will get mintage information from the Red Book and will see plenty of images using ebay.
