Here is a worn 1812 CBH, but it's in pretty bad shape. Check out the die-cud and clashs (O-107) over the left wing, and also the 45 degree rotated die. Take Care Ben
Neat coin ben! Thanks for sharing. The obverse seems to have a better strike than the reverse. But overall I'd call it a fine.
Ben: Another nice one, that die clash must have been massive when first struck for it to still show at this late grade! Strange that it isn't equally strong on the obverse. Unless they changed dies at that point.
Yes, the conventional wisdom is that the die was loose, and two impressions were made between the two strikings of the planchet. Pretty wild, eh?
