I came across this dime and would like to know more about it. I'm no expert collector, just a casual one. Anyone have some info on this?
I didn't know that back in 1804, they had the technology to refine silver down to .999 purity. Not too sure about this but weren't coins measured by grains instead of ounces back then?
Don't know exactly what that is, but it's not a U.S. coin. It might be a token. 1804 was a Draped Bust and the reverse had an eagle on it.
What you have is a 1/10 oz silver bullion token that has a copy of the 1804 draped bust obverse and a different reverse. Kind of a cool piece, but only worth melt.
Only 100% fake if it isn't silver. Like you said it's just a 1/10th oz silver round and that is all it claims to be. Lots of silver rounds of whatever size like to use the 1804 draped bust design.
