Do you think the toning is original?

    I'm guessing XF40/45

The toning looks questionable to me. Just as importantly, the coin appears to have suffered environmental damage across the "Y" in "LIBERTY" and across the "IT" in "UNITED".

While I have no way of being positive, they appear to be more than "skin deep", as is possible when oxygen permeates silver, which can happen under certain conditions . . . this phenomenon is beyond the bounds of my knowledge . . . would have to do research when I can spare the time. I know I have had many silver coins in the past with such black streaks left on them by long term contact with rubber bands (extremely high sulphur content).

Perhaps there's an inciteful chemist out there who would take a few minutes to enlighten us.

I agree that the likely artificial toning and black marks bring a details grade so I wouldn't bother grading it.
