Gorgeous addition, marbury518 ... I have a VF-30 example ... but your new sweetheart looks to be in far nicer shape!(congrats!!)
I tend to get the high end Canadian stuff slabbed with ICCS. They will give me a lower grade but their rep for being conservative is well known and Canadian buyers trust them. My lower grade Canadian stuff will go to NGC or ANACS who will give me higher grades and broader recognition of their slabs for any e-bay sales. Will wait for grades back to see which are keepers and which have to go.
I hope for at least a 58....but I don't have it in hand yet..........some say 55 some 63....a 55 would be a kick in the pants.
Being a high end Canadian collector, I find this interesting. My high end Canadian stuff (MS-65 or higher) goes to PCGS. ICCS really does not fully use the full upper end of the Sheldon Scale...
Very true........but an MS64 with PCGS or NGC is at least a couple of grades lower than an ICCS 64.....so ICCS is recognised as very conservative and thus commands a high premium on resales.....many Canadian collectors of expensive coins won't buy PCGS/NGC from me.
Tough break, my coin friend ... ... so, do you cut your losses and send it off to one of the other grading outfits, hoping for a higher rating? For the record, if it was my "Precious", then I'd keep it unslabbed (the coin has fantastic toning and very sweet eye-appeal ... congrats on owning such a wonderful coin)
