The toning is certainly nice, and any toned CC dollar commands a premium if they look attractive, but this one is certainly sky high, even for a tone lover like me: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1883-CC-1-N...G-/301016002916?&_trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276
I'm surprised at the 64 grade as well, but not the *. Nice looking toning. If I'm going to pay moon money for a coin, I at least want the "technicals" to be there as well. I'd pass on this GSA. Stacks just hand hundreds of GSA's up for auction. It closed last night. Some of the prices were really good. 1883 is very common too. You'll be able to find a toner 1883 rather easily. That cheek looks like a 62 max.
I think it is borderline. My grade, knowing CC bag marked Morgans, would have been a 63. Photos don't display the tone well enough, and I own an 82cc GSA that is toned, but nicer than that. Did not pay even half of that for it.
The pics aren't the best so it's hard to see if those are hits or rubs . Still I don't like all the spots on the cheek .
