Good day all. Recently i was going through mt pockets and discovered to have this 2000 quarter with strike doubling errors on the front side of the coin. most of the letters appear striked twice. ive been searching to ee if theres any quarter minted in this year to have any error only to find if its rare to this year or not.Apparently it may be rare because i have not found one. i would need your advice to fully recognize what i have. hopefully these images will help. Thank you Rbn1
There appears to be some die deterioration doubling going on, but that's all I'm seeing in the images. Die-deterioration doubling is very common.
die -deterioration, interestingi see very interesting i see very little wear, but thanks. i understand that it is very common. But is it real common for this coin and its mint year? Bases on the iimages would you be able to grade this coin?
Die deterioration is very common for every coin, every year, and every mint. That's because every single die eventually starts to deteriorate. Remember that wear on the coin itself has nothing to do with it, because what you are seeing is "wear" on the dies that produced the coin.
understand. now another quesstion why are most of the letters have doubling and the face image doesn't
the letters and numbers are the first to wear out on the dies. the coin you have here is a normal quarter struck with a worn out die .
Here is this 1987 one cent coin. That i put away. Any reason why this might of happened?? Also a coin that im curious about
