1864 Indian. L or No L?

    image.jpg I know where I'm suppose to be looking but even when I looked at a slabbed 64-L I couldn't see it.

    It would be on the band under the last bottom feather and above the hair . Not the band with the diamonds on it . Hope that helps a little .

    It does appear that it might be. However, you cut off the tip of the bust in the photo. The 'L' version has a pointed tip rather than the normal rounded tip. Makes it easier even when well worn.

    It is a L just really hard to make out. As stated the pointed bust helps with the attribution.

    Yep L. The bust is pointed, more narrow and isn't in as much of a slant as the rounded bust. You can also tell by the positioning of lettering to feathers. The positioning is different on the rounded versions.

    Yep you only need to see the bust to tell. Makes it easy on some of the low grade coins. I had one in the bag of wheat cents that I got.
