1925 Quarter Dollar

    someone i know just showed me a 1925 quarter she foind in change. the date is readabke, i looked for a mint mark but didnt see one. i did see a letter m on the reverse though. is this the designers initial? where should the mint mark be if its not philadelphia? i only collect foreign coins and dont know much about u.s. coins. any idea of value if any over melt value?

    It sounds like what you have is a 1925 Standing liberty quarter it is most likely worth about 8 dollars or so from what you say but i would need better pictures to give you a more accurate value !!

    There won't be a mint mark, as the 1925 quarter was only minted in Philadelphia. There shold be a small "M" on the obverse to the right and above the date, which is the designer's initial (Hermon MacNeil). This is what your coin should look like, and this one sold for $8.
