I nearly forgot, got this baby for free in a bag marked "Tokens" "No Denomination"
    Which I thought was cool.

Finally added this coin to my collection. Been a long time coming...MS62 isn't a grade I usually consider, but let's just say this label/holder is a bit misleading. More to come in a separate thread sometime soon... ;)

After an attempted theft on my coin package from Santiago, my wife received it all torn up after 2 weeks (I paid for overnight service). I came back after my week shift on mine looking forward seeing my coins just to find out that the cleaning lady thought the package was garbage and threw it out. I searched the garbage and final got it a day before pickup. Damn, and was I surprised. This particular specimen does not have the highest value for the type, but in my opinion the most difficult to find in good condition. The best NGC reported grade for the year is XF40. It still have a nice cartwheel luster and might grade higher. I can close this type for all years.

That is quite a story, Derick. I am glad you managed to find the package finally. I guess you had a quiet word with the cleaning lady to be careful in future? (in my case that would be my wife - just kidding).
That is a nice 50 Centavos. It is a type I do not have in my collection. As you say, they are quite scarce in that condition.

Thank you, I was pleasantly surprised that it is not cleaned. I have quite the horror stories as well, but now and again some nice stuff pops up. Like these two currently for sale out of Chile. The Peso is little to much, but I am thinking of buying the 4 Reales. For these I need to have a word with my wife, not the cleaning lady.

Chile 4 Reales 1791/0 So DA (NGC MS63)
Chile 1828 COQUIMBO peso TH (NGC AU58)

this part of my Xmas project for my 2 grandsons. I am going to give each a coin dated 100, 200, and 300 years prior to their birth years.they both already have mint and proofs plus ASE for their birth year. So that's a 1695,1795,1895,1698,1798, and 1898. Thought about Morgans for the 1800s, but dang it, 1895?! Maybe a nice IHC or Liberty nickel. The 1600s and 1700s will be World coins.perhaps this year I'll be successful and get their noses out of the phones for a while. oh well can't force it, but i can encourage it. what has worked for you guys and gals ?

I can only say, fantastic! I hope you can spring for that 4 reales Carlos III. Much, much scarcer than Carlos IV 4 reales. I don't believe I have ever seen a better one, and being encapsulated, you have some reassurance of authenticity.
The Coquimbo peso in a class of its own. Its probably worth more than the 2 cars I have parked outside of my house. If I remember, there are only about 5-10 known, and there are two types for those. That coin is not within my reach- at least not If I want to remain happily married.
    Go for it!

Here is my 4 reales 1790. Nowhere near as nice as that 1791, it came out of the Amat
    collection.
