Yet that was the figure the Mint claimed during the production of the state quarters, 150 MILLION collectors. What do you call a coin collector? A coin collector, period. A coin collector MAY be a numismatist, most are not. A numismatist may or may not collect coins. Most do but some do not.
I've been seriously collecting coins for about a year. I've learned a lot by visiting the various message boards and I have read a lot of books on the coins I collect. I would not consider myself a Numismatist at this point.
