Im pretty sure that the link above is the most expensive one that has been on ebay for quite a while.
That one is in the red book and it says that it was sold in November 2005 for 2.99 million dollars. This is much more that that.
I don't have access to eBay where I'm at right now, but the most valuable coin was offered by Mike Byers at $3MM if I recall correctly. I think it may be a Proof High Relief St Gaudens $20. I do recall some other seller once offering at $10MM a high grade common date gold coin that was easy to confuse with a landmark rarity. I contacted him, and asked if it was a typo, and he said no, and insisted he had every right to take that much money from anyone dumb enough to pay it.
