Again, I really love these comfy ol' Sestertius coins!! (they're awesome!!) Ummm, and as you've probably noticed, I seem to be drawn to "experienced" looking coins ... I love the looks of this big, brassy, poc-marked looking winner!! => oh, and Diva Julia Titi is ranked "132nd outta 207" in ERIC II ... so yah, this is now my "rarest" ruler coin (or someone associated with a ruler)!! I absolutely love it ... I hope you guys like it too (sadly, it'll be my last new coin posting for a while) ... *sigh* Diva Julia Titi. Æ Sestertius Struck under Domitian Rome mint AD 91 Died AD 91 Diameter: 34 mm Weight: 24.31 grams Obverse: Carpentum drawn right by two mules Reverse: Legend around large S C Reference: RIC II 717 (Domitian) Other: 5h … brass-brown patina, roughness and cleaning scratches
One of the coins I honestly have found to be boring. I just dont care for the design. If I was gonna own a titi coin I would spend the $600 for a silver portrait of her. I wouldnt buy this coin for $30 on ebay, but thats me being weird I guess, lol.
ahahaha ... sorry Mat, I didn't mean to offend you with my new coin purchase!! That's odd, because I feel the opposite ... man, a couple of good ol' donkeys pullin' a cart => that's money!! (but as always => luckily, we don't all love the same coins, eh?) Cheers, brother (I like you)
Oh the donkeys are a hoot. I find it amusing. Its like a kick to the nuts to be hauled by donkeys then a horse or something. But to add this type to how my collection is set up, it would be a coin would just gloss over when looking at my coins. I try to buy pieces I will enjoy each. Cant tell you how much I gloss over my Tetrarchy & Constantine era coins. But I own some because they are historical. I purposely picked the ones with a sandy patina or good silvering left, if not they wouldnt have been bought.
Brutal => it's a tough-crowd tonight, eh? Man, my last coin of the year is being roasted, harshly!! Just jokes, gang => I always love coin-comments (good, or bad) ... Hmmm, but I am a bit surprised though, because when I saw this beauty, it was a no-brainer => I'm grabbing this coin and I'm gonna love it, forever!! Donkeys, carts ... 34 mm, 25 grams, etc ... cool brassy look (total winner!!) => Don't listen to them, lil' donkeys!! ... you pull that cart ... you pull it really well!! (*sniffle*) I love you guys!! (cheers, coin-comrades!!)

Oh well, gang ... I hope that you guys eventually fall in love with this coin (I think that it rocks!!) Cheers, my awesome comrades
Thanks for the coin atta-boys, gang ... => oh, and absolutely gorgeous donkey-coin, Eduard!! (thanks for posting it!!)
Interesting coin for sure, very good catch Like Mat, I tend to prefer coins featuring portraits. As for that hung donkey : poor thing....
Well honestly I am on the fence about this coin. Alth0ugh I think its a solid buy, yall like the donkey. I actually like the look and size of the legend and of course the SC.
Thanks for posting the nice carpentum drawn by an 8-legged mule. You & Wikipedia have taught me what a carpentum is today. Here's my Messana coin with mules. It's one of those coins that looks much better when you don't use a magnifying glass.
i really like it... 1. it big 2. its rough but i still think it's attractive...neat color and nice details. i can get into a big gnarly sestertius for sure.
Hey Noob (zup?) .... yah, although I absolutely adore the ol' 8-legged donkey, I'm also a huge fan of these nice big coins with SC on the reverse (I'm glad that you like it) Cheers
