It has been a long time since I last posted---life has been in the way. However I still have looked through a fair number of half dollar boxes in the last year. I average two every other week. The vast majority have been skunks, and that is actually taking away from actual, walking-on-the-ground skunks. A few have had one or two 40% and occasionally I would get a 90%, but lately things have been pretty poor.
Today I picked up my usual two boxes and had a bit of a shock. No silver (not a shock), but, in one of the boxes, 74 clad proofs! Most of them are really nice, but there were a couple of clunkers. Here they are:
    1971s - 4
    1972s - 3
    1973s - 5
    1974s - 6
    1976s - 4
    1977s - 11
    1978s - 3
    1979s - 5
    1982s - 2
    1984s - 1
    1992s - 4
    1993s - 2
    2000s - 5
    2002s - 6
    2004s - 4
    2005s - 8
    2007s - 1
Some of you may recall a post from a while back (over a year ago) where I had a couple similar boxes, but not quite as many proofs.

Isn't it amazing what other people won't take the time to check?

That would be impressive even for NIFC, but for proofs? Wow.

How can someone look at 74 proofs and think "useless that grandpa saved these" and get $37 for them?

Curious, isn't it? There was a near complete lack of 80's and 90's. I wonder if they were sorted into a different Loomis box. Would have been nice if there were a 71-s doubled die or 79-s or 81-s type ll's. However, I'll not complain too much.
