Hello everybody A friend of mine who is also a paper money collector, showed me a paper money dated 1995 with a denomination of one million dollars. He assured that it is genuine and asked me help to determine its approximate value. Of course the paper is from the United States of America. How much could it be worth? As usual , I count on CoinTalk. Thanks Charles
Not much Charles, its a novelty note. I'd say less than $5 though I see you can buy it on ebay for $25 http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...0.X1000000&_nkw=1000000&_sacat=3412&_from=R40
If it's printed by the American Bank Note Co. then it could be worth as much as $5. But mostly worth it's weight in paper.
I prefer the Reagan gold certificate... a classy note, and you get ten for $3.75 (with a buck for shipping). http://www.ebay.com/itm/RONALD-REAG...949?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item563495112d
Here it is for $2:http: http://www.ebay.com/itm/USA-1000000...096?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20cfb1c760
this is not legitimate. the highest denomination ever printed in the united states is $100,000 which was printed from 1934-1935. these were not released to the public. the highest bill that was available to the public was the $10,000, which has not been released since 1969. you most likely have a novelty note worth about 3 cents.
This cost me $25. Not a banknote, but a legit security. Too bad I didn't own it before it was cancelled. More here: http://www.cointalk.com/threads/stocks-bonds-what-72-million-looks-like.162034/
