For the first part... Check ebay and check often. Some would have to come up for sale at some point. It sounds like the quest for a 7070 album. For part two... It would a lot more up front but could let to sales and income later. Find out if the "plans or patent" (can't come up with a better description) are available. Find out how to make them yourself or have them made. Initial cost could turn to profit?
ALTERNATE SOLUTION: My alternate solution is to buy Guardhouse or Whitman or any other heavy duty proof set/mint set storage boxes and line them with Corrosion Intercept. It is the material used to line the Intercept Shield Storage Box for Mint & Proof Sets. The website listed below states, "Corrosion Intercept® is readily available in 3 mil thickness; various bag and roll sizes are also readily available. Custom gauges and sizes also available; contact Liberty for more information." I do not know if this will be more expensive than the original boxes were, but if they can't be found, what other option do you have? I hope this helps you out spock. http://libertypackaging.com/corrosion-intercept/
It looks like the first one is being sold at http://www.interceptshield.com/boxes.html and their distributorship is here: http://www.interceptshield.com/distributors.html. I think a call or email to them at http://www.interceptshield.com/about.html (gives contact info for the company) should secure where they are selling the product they list at the bottom of http://www.interceptshield.com/boxes.html. A cheap way might be to place your proof set in a box and place a number of zincolns (preferably the orange peel version or ones with a number of MD areas evident) in the box with them and as close to the mint or proof set as possible. That way the zincolns become the sacrificial cathartic material. Basically a DIY shield box.
I would say to use ammo cans with some desiccant inside, and some sacrificial copper cents. I think it would be a better long term storage solution. The sets would fit nicely inside. The cans look cool too!
Wow spock, you were right, this is definitely a tough one. I honestly have no idea on either. The only thing I can think of as an alternative solution is to roll the dice on trying to contact those closest to the product and see if they can offer any advice. It is my understanding the founder and president of Intercept Shield was John Albanese, one of the founders of PCGS. You could also try to and find a way to reach out to the man primarily responsible for developing Intercept Technology, John P. Franey, of Lucent Technology Bell Labs. I know these are extreme long shots, but no harm in trying I suppose.
Go here to buy Intercept Shield double 2x2 for $10.75: http://www.coinsupplyexpress.com/BOXDBLW2x2-Intercept-Shield-sku-35216.aspx Cut out the divider with a razor blade or Exacto knife. You can fit 10 in each with room to store a few other items. Not the best for viewing but this is for storage so does it really matter? Not sure if this answers the first question (these would be Intercept Shield boxes that you could store proof and mint sets in) or an alternate solution (as it is a modification). Maybe it is both. You decide.
For part one local coin shops that also sell supplies are good for getting them i actually bought one from my local coin shop a month or so back because my drawer was full sometimes i am surprised at how many holders and boxes dealers have !! Part 2 is actual something i personally use if you look at for example a large rolling tool chest you would notice they come in 2 parts the top part which can be but on anything a self the floor a chest or anything !! This piece has a deep drawer that would most likely hold somewhere near 75 proof sets of them then it has a medium depth drawer which you might get in the 25-40 range in and then the top which would hold about 10-15.These chest can be bought relatively cheaply in the 70 dollars range also you are holding a huge amount of them and they chest is actually lighter then you would think easy to move and also easy to arrange set by date in and has the looking feature so no worrys about any going missing when you have people over or are away. With a little investment it will go a long way. Also another idea i had was to use thoose airtight containers that you can get at target i think you could get at least 20 in those mabye more and you could arrange them by date !!
I haven't read all the other entries so it's really ok if my answer is already taken (but it's better than posting nothing) Here is a website that seems to have a few Intercept Shield items for sale : http://www.wizardcoinsupply.com/products/intercept-shield-box/ Here is an Alternate Solution: Silica Gel Desiccants! http://www.jpscorner.com/silica-gel-humidity-control.html Put these in a safe or the container where you may keep ur coins because the thing that damages coins is the humidity in the air. (it causes corrosion, toning, and other horrible things!) sorry for a horrible answer, I never really thought about coin storage :/
"alternate solution" I would remove the sets from the boxes. Place a few sets in a ziplock bag with a few MS cents. Cover the bottom of a food grade container with more MS cents. Place the ziplock bags in the container and seal the container. Store the containers in a dry place with good temperature control. Silica Gel in each container would help as well. Pray.
well you kind of guessed right. hopefully it is a minor episode. onward we march. points update coming soon

ok the next round is going to be tough. The tpg and the us mint have been misleading collectors over this for a long time now. Luckily some of you will get a chance to dig deep and found out. I will post round 4 soon.
Too bad I missed round three, now what am I going to do with these dozens of new old stock "United States Proof and Mint Set Storage Box Intercept Shield" ?? I coulda been a contender !!
Simple 2 part question here. What causes red spots on pure gold coins (ex first spouse, buffalo panda etc)? Ill give you a free hint the oil theory is nothing but hogwash. the second part of the question is why wont intercept shield stop this from happening? Right this one is tough so you have until the 22nd of November. Maximum points awarded 5.
