War Nickels Value

    i Have 100 war nickels and the coin shop is offering 25 cents for them is this right?

    They got $1.2 silver value, so no. If BU they can go up to $5-6.

    Although melt is $1.22 they are not worth $1.22. Since they are only 35% silver they are less desirable than 90% or .999 silver. War nickels usually trade at least 20% less than silver value. 25 cents is not a fair offer.

    They should pull in at least .80 cents and coin and that is a minimum !!!

    Yeah, I would definitely recommend counting them, taking an in-focus picture of your war nickels as a group, and posting them here in the For Sale section, or on eBay. No fees here, though...

    Coin shops and pawn shops are generally going to be a weak buyer of war nickels unless they are relatively better grade.

    No, yes they are 35% silver but you should still be able to get at least .75 each.
