1880-S Morgan PCGS undergraded?

    It is a very nice coin i would say it would stay were its at i dont see it getting a higher grade then ms63 PL most times rattlers actually do not up grade it is a misconception !!

    But it didn't used to be a misconception. In years past coins in those older slabs would indeed up-grade more often than not if re-submitted. This was very well known. So in today's world coins in those older slabs have been picked over and looked at so many, many times, that most of them that were worthy of an up-grade have already been sent in and up-graded. Most of those that remain, are not worthy of an up-grade.

    And I agree, this coin isn't either.

    I agree with you the picking over has went on over the past 20 years or so and a lot of the ones left arent making the grade i have seen it many times over on this forum and other forums lately people have had or are purchasing rattlers expecting it to grade up and sure enough it hasnt exactly worked in the favor in 90 percent of the cases !! It is a shame but hey at least all the nicest coins are in more modern slabs

    Yeah, they are. And a great, great many of them are over-graded, now.
