Here's a section that will be of interest to the British Commonwealth numismatists here.It is about the private pattern ECU & Euro coins from various British Commonwealth countries, including Ireland & St. Helena,of all places. Most of them are listed in Krause's 'Unusual World Coins' catalogue. Aidan.
Steve, that is a very nice official Gibraltarian 2.8 ECUs medal-coin.I haven't yet managed to get any official ECU medal-coins though. Aidan.
I saw British euro set with HM E-II. Looks great, but - as I know - this is privete production. I saw also patterns for Slovakia, Czech Republic and ... (please take a sit) for Turkey! Polish set is horrible! Many mistakes in Polish inscriptions and not very good quality.
Thalia has two of these from Great Britain but they're on display right now at her school as part of her Queen Elizabeth exhibit so I can't photograph them. We bought them at the CNA Convention last year; inexpensive and nice looking (proof like finish). I think they were the 25 euro cents and 50 euro cents.

Steve, have you got any of the private pattern ECUs that came out in 1992? I can guess that you'd be wanting the Welsh ones,as they depict Edward the Black Prince on the reverses of the coins. Aidan.
Nope unfortunatly I dont those that I have I did not go out of my way to get. Have not seen the Black Prince one though.
Will, this will be of interest to you,as there were some private pattern Euro coins struck for Malta as well. Aidan.
