just a note to say i got my silver uncirculated eagles in today. ordered in mid october. nice product w/ no packing problems this time!!
consider yourself blessed and above all enjoy the coins. I have two orders , well three orders out from the mint. I will be so glad when i can recive them and not be wating on the mint to send me anything. Kind of like the end of a prison sentance. :hail:
Great and I am still waiting on the rest of my order. As an avid collector of silver eagles, wouldn't the new 20th anniversary set coins and the new uncirculated w buisness strike coin now be considered to be part of each collection, ie, mint state and proof collections? I know they should but I haven't seen anyone adding them to the sets that are for sale.
Yes and no. I think the reverse proof might make its way into the proof collections but then again given it's limited run, maybe not. I have mine in my NGC box with my proof series. However, in terms of sales and not storage, I think it will bring top dollar sold as a single so I think that will be how you will find it. The 2006W unc. is not part of the bullion set. It is the first issue of a new series so it's the first coin of a third set that you will need to collect. Another issue to consider is: What is now considered a complete set? Does a complete set of proof ASEs include the Anniversay regular proof in the black label as well as the single issued proof in the plain label? Does a complete set of ASE bullion include all 3 of the the 2006W's (blue label, black label, tan label) ? or do you only need one example regardless of the label. It is the same coin. How much will the color of the label matter? Blue already commands premium prices compared to the black and tan.
Yeah I got a bit lost in trying to figure out how many coins we were talking about. A complete set would be one in which all coins are present, not all sorts of label colors. All one has to do is list the different coins... 2006-P UNC ASE 2006-W UNC ASE 2006-P Proof ASE (does this exist or are they all 2006-W Proofs?) 2006-W Proof ASE 2006-P Reverse Proof ASE You know they are going to release a -W Reverse Proof one day to double the collection $$$
I have noticed that most sets that are for sell in bullion speccify the 95 W is not included, mainly due to cost. I think the current bullion coins will be part of the uncirculated sets, with or without the mintmark and the proofs will be part of the proof sets.Yes this does make it more complicated with all three coins being slabbed together, but I have recieved one set with seprate slabs and one set slabbed together from NGC. So I would say I would believe it is a set of like coins too, with or without mintmarks, because you don't keep Morgans in three different sets, S, D, P, O, and CC.
I'm glad you got your coins srkjkd! Enjoy! As to what a set is... A set is whatever you want it to be. If you want a set of the coins, then you don't need all the possible combinations of packaging, etc. If you want a set of silver eagle Mint Products, then you probably would want all of the various packaging options to have a complete set. I say To Each His Own! :thumb:
