I don't love the new bills. I could stand the first bigheads of Series 1996, but once things started getting colorized I started to dislike them more and more. While I understand the need for the enhanced security features and colorization, I long for the old $100s with their beautiful reverse.
actually, the Gov't got sued before the new 5 came out and now they have to put the large colored numbers on all bills except the 1.ive heard that the 10 will get a large red #10 in 2015 and the 20 & 50 in 2016. havent heard anything about the 2 yet though
I think part of the reason for the poorly done watermark is that it was seen as obsolete by the designers of the new hundred so little focus was put into creating it. The new hundred comes with the shifting Liberty Bell but above this, it has the 3D strip on the front. I believe this strip is what the government primarily expects to be examined when determining authenticity individually by hand and that most other security features are secondary and even redundant, yet were required to be transferred from the old design generation to the next.
