I like the app U.S. coin. it lets you take a checklist of all of your coins with you and you can put what grade the one you have is in so you know what to look out for at coin shows and shops.

I personally like the Coinflation App. It calculates the current price of any amount of junk silver instantly.

I use several tools on my iPhone.

NGCs app is VERY useful and scans the bar codes easily to bring up the info about any of their coins. Sometimes pictures too.

I use Coinflation like Lehigh and ALSO made a home screen button of coinflations page on the melt value of each coin. Found it was easier to use that portion for a quick glance and all coins individual melt value.

I made a home screen button for numismedia to easily look up current prices. Very handy for calculating high grade coin values. Utilizes every grade up to 70 and should be based off of NGCs database

I use a little app called Coinbook Pro as my iPhone 'red book'. Very helpful for mintage numbers mostly.

    PCGS' Photograde app

I use a free market watch app to track gold and silver spot prices when needed.

And lastly I have a home screen button for my states most recognized coin shop. They host a ton of area shows and I can easily see what's coming up that they are hosting or attending if it isn't one of their own shows.

    Oh and obviously this site.

That about covers it. My phone is quite the quintessential research tool for my coin escapades.

Oh I almost forgot the most important new addition. I use the google drive app to access all of my spreadsheets which houses all of my check lists and such.

    And my calculator app :)

And my camera app for taking semi decent pictures.

Forgot a couple more important ones. Actually probably THE MOST important one I utilize daily.

Seriously though. All of these apps/tricks/etc are essential to my coin collecting. I don't have a home computer, just my work computer and I really don't need it. I edit my spreadsheets from work, but the rest I can do on the go. I honestly couldn't live without my phone, and the best part is its portable, and always backed up to my itunes if I ever do lose my phone.

Coin collecting is VASTLY different than what it was 5-10-20 years ago as far as technology being a huge benefit and help.

This was all customizable to my wants, needs, and lifestyle.

I don't live on my phone by any means, but all the tools i need are never further away than my pocket or fingertips.
