My 2nd pickup this month.... Diocletian ...299 - 303..AD.. AE..Follis.. Rev.Casess Fel Kart A.. in Ex. Mint...Carthage. Nice big coin..29mm x 10.22g.
That's what i worry about when i see green, i check and recheck my bronze often..but these are just hard green crusties ...
cool ENG! ifyou got that onlne recently...that may be one i thought about bidding on, but i stayed on the wagon. i thought it was cool that it was from carthage and dug the "dangle" fruit on the reverse. glad to see it has a good home!
Man, I love seeing one of my favourite brothers getting an awesome coin!! (congrats dawg!!) Funny ... yah, I guess a perfectly pristine coin is the ultimate goal, eh? ... => but often, I am drawn to these coins with a couple of "hunks and/or crusties" on 'em ... know what I mean? ... or even coins with a bit of comfy wear ... again, I realize that they aren't gonna be worth as much as the super-minty-crispies => but seriously, I have a real soft-spot for a slightly "experienced" ancient coin!! Eng => I'm absolutely lovin' your new crispy Diocletian, avec a couple o' crusties!!
No Chris i purchased this 4 weeks ago, it took 3 weeks to get here, after two weeks i emailed the seller, told me he forgot to send it.. Steve i love these imperfect coins, when you think how we mint coins today and how they did back then, crispy, crusties, oblongs, broken coins, there all awesome..
Nice coin Eng, and the green deposits arent too distracting. One of my coins that came recently has some and its on silver.
I always liked the Carthage reverse. I haven't picked one up yet but, the "I dont know" pose is appealing.
