I'm a member. You can find out more about it here: http://www.winsociety.org While membership is largely made up from the US, there are people from as outlandish far away places like Scotland and Indonesia who claim membership. Seriously, it is a bunch of well intentioned and well behaved coin people. There is a lot of expertise on hand via that group covering most aspects of numismatics. Ian
I am a member also. It's a great bunch of people with a lot of different numismatic interests and we're always looking for new people and new perspectives.
Claim,... claim!! Oh, it's just you Ian. I forgot, it's that Irish sense of humor. Yes, and we even have a bloke that CLAIMS to be from Ireland, but who can take him serious?? WINS is a great place to share information and make lasting friends that have the same interests as you do. However, just filling out an application isn't all I would recommend. To get the full benefit of the club and meet the active members, you need to join the WINS Talk Opt-in email List. There are some truly great collectors, young and mature are more than whiling to share their knowledge with everyone. Several WINS members are right here; Peter T. and Doug just to mention a couple more. I've not been on this end of the Forum until recently so I'm not certain how many more, but I'll just bet there are a bunch. Everyone is welcome. Guilty your honor WINS is a great coin club - populated with some of most knowledgeable people I have ever had the privilege of knowing
I just discovered that I have been a member for ten months! If you look at the menus, you will see that they have a forum of their own with no messages. Perhaps that could change. Michael
There are plenty of messages there Michael - but to be able to see them - you must first be given access to this private area by the Coin Talk site owner Peter T. Davis. Only WINS members are granted access to this area. As a member - that includes you of course To gain access - you must write to Peter and ask for it. But there is another thing about this private area for WINS members. So far - it has only been used to conduct club business. Regular discussions about our hobby do not take place there. At least not yet. As a member of WINS, you can of course sign up for the email based Talk List of WINS - which is where regular discussions do take place
I am also a member of WINS and highly recommend joining. The members are quite knowledgeable and cover a wide range of topics. While the email system takes a bit of getting used to, it is a great way to expand your numismatic knowledge.
