Starting to go though my wheats, not much for ddos for this year, the only photos I could find were from coppercoin, this one will take two post to list everything going on 1 of 2
2 of 2 heres the link to coppercoin http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1951&die_id=1951d1do001&die_state=lds
It's not the one on Chuck's site. If and only if the images are accurate (I only say that because the camera can unintentionally cause minor lighting issues that show up in images), the coin may be, based upon some of what I see on the word TRUST, a minor doubled die that is different in many ways than the one on coppercoin's site. It wouldn't be worth sending anywhere. Even if it were a doubled die, it is so minor that the postage used would be worth more than the coin. I'm not trying to be funny but not all doubled dies have a great value, even if this coin turns out to be one. I would wait until you are able to learn more about doubled dies on your own and then you will be able to evaluate the coin better. Some of the coins that are questioned can be the best learning tools in the hobby!
It's hard to be 100% sure from the photos, but I see some minor doubling going on on IGWT. It's definitely not 001 though. Wexler lists 8 different obverse doubled dies for 1951D, so this might be one that he has listed. You might check with him.
Wexler is working on getting images up for all of his listing, but yes, right now on his website all he has are the listing numbers without any photos or descriptions of the doubled dies for 1951D.
For everything, or is he just expanding what is presently shown? If for all of his listings, I imagine it will be one heck of an online reference when completed.
For everything. And yes, it will be quite the resource when he is finished. However, it's a monumental task and I'm sure it will be some time in the making.
Good luck Richard. One thing I do know is photo at times hide thing you can see in hand or by an expert viewing .
