Unfortunately, neither coin is rare or valuable. The first coin is a "marriage charm". Your specimen is a modern reproduction (probably made in Vietnam) of a Chinese charm discussed in this article. The second coin is a "fake" of a very rare 20 cash ("calculated weight 1 liang") coin cast at the Fuzhou, Fujian mint during the reign of the Xianfeng Emperor. I compared your coin to the known varieties of authentic pieces published by Mr. Ma Dingxiang, one of the most famous Chinese coin collectors of the last century. I have to disagree that 'kept through generations' is a helpful way to describe something as genuine. It could have been a fake to start off with. I have strong reservation of the first charm. It looks too modern as well as there is excess metal when the strokes intersect with other strokes - a strong possibility that this is a cast. I have no opinion on the second coin as the details are too low for me to make another opinion. Gut feel - it just doesnt' seem right even though I don't specialize in this coinage.
