It's a dud.I can guess that is Pamela 'Pjd1966' Donnelly, the Savannah Scammer up to her old tricks again! She needs to be reported. Aidan.
It's a crude 1799 draped bust dollar counterfeit. I may bid really high on it to prevent someone from getting burned. I emailed the seller and requested he pull the listing. No luck there.
thanks even the first 9 is crooked. You would think people who would bid what they are bidding would know what they are doing. thought is was some kind of token. I guess that is what it is
I contacted the seller and told them I have no intention of paying. I told them they were warned that it was a counterfeit, and if they decide to relist, I will be forced to report them to ebay. Hopefully I will not receive negative feedback for this, but as far as I can tell, I just saved some poor sap over 2k.
Good on you. That will really peeve off one or 2 crooks, but they have brought it on themselves. Aidan.
I think you should have it slabbed. I know a very reputable outfit that uses only the best gold foil stickers. I'll bet you'll get a Proof-102 on it. The title of the thread says it all... thanks, Zaneman.
One could leave feedback with the coin description and a note that it is fake. Of course, you would get a negative too considering his history... I wish eBay would allow us to filter just the negative and neutral feedback for any seller... 99.7% looks very good at first sight.
new trick? I was reading their feedback comments and found a neat trick. A buyer who must not have wanted negative feedback left a positive, then I assume after they got their positive, left a follow-up message that told the real story.:kewl:
