Great coin, but you're posting huge images these days, AN. Takes a long time to load. We don't really need to see the bacteria on the coin.
Man, I love it when you show a Kushan coin, because I get to post Miss Kushan!! => great lookin' new Kushan coin, A-Dawg!!
Inadvertent underwater Kushan pose. My brother is driving. Looks like he's going pretty fast. And to keep it numismatic, here's my sole sad little Kushan for which I paid way too much. A surprise find at a local shop, so we'll call the overpayment 'supporting the failing local economy'.
Great animal coin ... oh, and superb underwater action-shot!! => yup, it looks like we may have another nominee for the title of Miss Kushan?!
I have never been clear on the relationship between Baktrian Hermaios and the Kushans. There are even barbarous intermediates that also confuse me. Where do these coins fall? The first coin has residual silver (a fourree).
I am not sure about "first Kushan". Was this the first coin struck after the Kushan tribe took over? Remember that is was collectively the Yueh Chi who invaded Bactria. Only later did the Kushan tribe take power over the other 4 tribes and the Yueh Chi become known as Kushan.
