    Looks like MD to me. the date has the same doubling as the MM, flat and shelf-like.

    The coin looks plated post-mint, so I would think that is the cause of the anomalies apparent on your coin.

    Just got it along with about 700 more wheats this one is in a book has been for the past 14 years I thought it was md that's why I asked Ty all sure have missed y'all

    Your coin is known as a re-processed cent. As mentioned in an earlier post, it was replated.

    This was a common thing to do in order to make the coins look better and sell them again. Re-processed cents were all the rage in the 60s and 70s and they still turn up.

    Essentially, coins that were rusted or discolored to a point were cleaned and plated again. It was done outside the mint.

    The plating process caused the doubled appearance. You can see the additional effect to the right of the 9 and 4 in your image. I can't tell if it is also doubled around the 3.
