Hey all, I am new to the site been lurking for a while and usually find an answer quickly but can't seem to find anything on this.
I found a kentucky quarter yesterday and it appears to be missing the outer layer on both sides, any information would be appreciated.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, I should be able to put some better ones up later tonight if need be. 1015131151.jpg 1015131149.jpg

Welcome to the forum. your quarter is probably toned to this copper color. I doubt if both clad layers would be missing . our clad coins and even the newer nickel coins will tone to a dark copper color if left out in the elements of nature.

Look carefully at the edge of your quarter.
    Do you see the layers?
    I knew you would.

And if you really want to be sure just weigh it. If it was missing both layers it would weigh about 3 grams.

He's right that you should weigh it.
