Mother Of All Contests Framework

I really. Hope you feel better! I don't know if I'm still able to enter this round but if I am I'd suggest a coin story ? For example the life of a coin ! Like a funny short story. Or even do a trivia round! Another idea is take a picture of a random coin ( edit it so you can only see half. ) and guess what the coin is! Tanks !

i dont have much good news other than hopefully i will be able to put up a scoreboard in the next couple of days. i am going to need ten thousand times more luck then the winner of this contest . oh well here is hoping for a normal life. Thanks for playing and for the good wishes.

We are all transient IMHO. Yet we forget this very truth and pretend the laws of the universe don't apply to us. I don't want this to be a contest between me and GD. This contest is for people who want to play and have fun. There is only one prize but i hope all who participate can be winners in some way.

I received 2 different cards from 2 different people at 2 different points in time. One was we are all winners. it was from the captain of a team that i had coached and the second was have a wild and crazy ride in life. Cherished memories that i hope this contest can become for some of you.

Your suggestion is an intelligent one but I feel it will not be in the spirit of the contest that i am trying to create. I do hope that you participate it should be a lot of fun.

 

ok i have tallied up the scores for page 1 so far everyone with no numbers has 1 point if you have more than one point you will see the number next to your name after a space . This is a partial list i will do page 2 and update as soon as i can. The question for round 2 is ready. it will be posted soon. Do the best you can for round 2 for round 3 i expect that no one will score any points

First the points you can score between 0 and 5. Contest is simple you have to write a 100 word paragraph of your experience with numismatics. You can write the good, the bad. the funny, the ugly. The more i like it the more points you get. However it has to be something meaningful. For example if you come in and say i like coins because it has gold in it and that is your entire paragraph you wont score any points.

One week for this one. I might start negative point system from round 4 onwards to spice things up so my advice is make hay while the sun shines

I started collecting coins in 1995, when I was 10 years old. I would have my father take me to local coin stores here in Upstate NY, and to the monthly coin show in Albany. My focus from the start was Bust half dollars and small size silver certificates (I still love Bust halves). In the intervening 18 years, the collection has wavered in importance, until after I had graduated from college in 2007. After suffering a nasty breakup, along with some poor life choices, I got serious again about my life and my hobby. I have worked hard these past few years to expand and upgrade my collection, and now am the sole employee (aside from the owner) of a coin store in Ballston Spa, NY.
I'm not sure if I'll be in the coin 'business' forever, but I'll always be a collector!
