Yup, i go to NED several times in the summer. I usually race at Fun Ford Weekend or Tasca or I'm up there supporting friends who race and compete.

I haven't roadraced in a while since i no longer have a trailer. As soon as i get another i will be right back at it. For AutoXing i usually go to Devens AFB and race there.

    Thanks

I realize more responses might come in, but I want to go ahead and thank all of you who posted on this topic. You're an amazing bunch. I also want to thank GDJMSP for bending the rules a little and letting us go ahead with this topic. It's not exactly coin collecting, is it? Thanks to all!--gunsmoke

i met this coin dealer in kansas one time and he actually buys old broken down junk vending machines that have no keys. i was really getting into his stories he was telling me about how he bought an old soda machine from the 60's and it broke in the 70's and the owners lost the keys and there was still money inside! he said he found all kinds of old coins. he also buys junk cars alot and rips the back seat out because there is lots of lost change in the backseats of cars. when people sit down change falls within the cracks. well, one time he bought a 50's model car and he found a 1921 silver morgan dollar, some silver jewery, and some other things that had been lost in the seats and carpet. well, he buys these cars for $50, rips the inside up, gets the coins and sells the car back to the junkyard! the junkyard buys these old cars for $50 so he gets his $50 back plus a little extra from the coins and jewery he finds. i used to email this guy but i can't email him for some unknow reason. he was very fun to chat with and email. my point is, next time you pass by a junkyard, just think how many old coins are in those cars! also, if you buy a new car, since they recycle the cars, just think about the silver and copper in the coins that were melted with the car.:goofer:

I collect special edition and promotional pop cans, die cast models and hot wheels ( mostly Mopar and racing cars, F-1 and Champcar). Also before my dad passed away when he would take my wife and I to Vegas, I would collect sovenier glasses, shot glasses, matchbooks, dice and playing chips from the different casinos. The funnest was the glasses, we would take a cab to one end of the strip and drink our way back!!:rolling: If you looked in my driveway you would think I collected cars to, but thats just a sick obsession!:kewl:

I collect postcards, articles, advertising and even obits that relate to tokens in my collection. I suppose the nearly 200 exonumia reference books could constitute a related colllection as well.

I tend to accumulate a few other things as well - motorcycles (both real and cast iron toys), stamps, sports cards, military items and some other things that my wife would place in the "junk" category.

Victor, if you like the rush and thrill of acceleration and speed (and with relatively small cash outlay), you need to lose a couple of wheels. When the Yamaha VMax came out in 1985, I read about them and had to have one (and still do). Stock 0-60 acceleration in 2.2 seconds. Stock 1/4 miles of 10.20 seconds and 138 mph, and easily enhanced from there if desired. Not any street legal cars I know of that will touch that, although there are newer bikes that have higher performance.

I was kind of surprized that there were not more Red Book Collectors. I have all from 8th Edition on up, all new condition. I buy one hardcover for collecting and one of any other one for usage in several different rooms. I also give about 10 to 15 away for Christmas Presents each year.
Used to collect stamps but they now just sit in a filing cabinet for the last 50 or so years.
About 2,000 of those stupid little Hot Wheel Cars and don't know why.
Lead Casting moulds and finished products in Lead
Medical Bills, lots and lots of them and those I wish I didn't have.

    My hobbies are:

Coin Collecting Morgans, Proofs, Commems, ASEs, Ikes, etc.. etc.. I guess I don't really have to explain that one here.. :)

Firearms Collecting (Glocks, AK, Ruger 10/22s, MAC-10s, AR-15, Mossberg Shotguns, Reminton Bolt Actions) I've got a bunch I guess... Between the Guns, Coins and PMs I need a third Fireproof Safe..

Home Theater I've always had a crappy one and wanted a dedicated room for one to go all out... We recently bought a "Fixer Upper" that will have space for one in the basement...

Custom Cars(well Trucks) and Car Audio, I built a somewhat custom 2000 S-10 Blazer and won over 40 shows with it...
    Here are a few pics

You can't really see the Ghost Flames here that cover the hood and go down the door to the rear wheel wells
