I thought it would be fun to do this again and make it a regular thread with a poll. I'm going to sell an awful looking coin and you guys get to guess how much it sells for on eBay. Should be a blast to make fun of my crappy coin and watch the bidders fight over it. Here goes... 1836 Capped Bust Quarter, heavily damaged, corroded, and polished.[/ATTACH] DSCN8079.JPG DSCN8080.JPG

Why does it look like the edge of the coin is peeling off the rest of the coin?

The Chinese would make a better coin than this, haha! See pics of 2 other eBay examples. It's the edge/design of the coin. $(KGrHqIOKp0FGQwBTl8HBRnHtjZeow~~60_57.jpg $T2eC16FHJHQFFhnqhzI,BSU2FsWoig~~60_57.jpg

Well, the Chinese fakes I've seen do have the reeded edge placed on as a seperate piece and they look exactly like that. Not saying its fake....just saying....

That's weird. I wonder what causes the crease there? I don't know this series well so I don't know if that's common.

What's the Ebay link to the coin? I'll vote but want to see the description, information, and layout of the page first as it does help on bids somewhat.

Forum rules - members are not allowed to post links to their own active auctions. Normally threads like this wouldn't even be allowed, but because of the nature of this thread I'm willing to bend the rules just a bit.

Oh yeah forgot but what about posting it in the For Sale section then linking it to there? I wanna see this in action! Or just send me the link C-B-D ;)

No bidding on it. That'd be cheating!

Just say it was in Abe Lincoln's pocket when he was shot by Booth.

Then, on eBay, worth a ton!

That coin reminds me of one of those Sci Fi channels original movies, it is so bad it is good. Well it's been around longer than I have.
