funny how you mentioned action figures.... I have a huge star wars figures collection from 1995 and on. I had stopped collecting figures after the last SW movie came out and people were dumping the whole collections on Ebay. so I was not worried about her taking them. lol I would say my whole coin collection is valued around $12,000-15,000 now and this from collecting over a 15 year span. I could probably sell some of the coins... but there are some I will never part with.

But then someone would dig up your grave. You need to take precautions for your collection. if she doesnt steal them a robber just might. I have an entire safe room with a hidden door in a hallway. you would never notice it. The room cost a lot of money to install but it is worth it since I have a few 100k worth.

not really gonna do that. it's called coin humorrrrrrrr. I hidden wall... cool. if and when I do buy a house it will have something like that with a built in safe. my so-so coins are out in the open. my valuable coins are well hidden from view. this is not my first coin rodeo. I trust my girlfriend now. all my more valuable coins are photographed and well documented. she or the robber would not be able to sell them anywhere near here at our 1 and only coin shop or pawn shops around here. or in close towns.

Haha, it's funny how this convo is now about everything except roll hunting. My figures are Halo from the first game, so only worth about 100 each. Might go up one day tho.

It wasn't directed towards anyone in particular, and was only meant as a lighthearted joke... even though they are "cents", not "pennies". ;)

It doesn't make "cents" to always call them cents. Sometimes it's fun to switch it up and use pennies even though it isn't the correct term. :)

I bought some more pennies and nickels. I also tried dimes. I found a few off center die error dimes, a wheat penny and a few uncirculated nickels. kinda bummed I havent found anything cool yet.

Deciding what a "keeper" is will vary person to person. I usually keep anything worth more than face value. That being said, most 1950s nickels wouldn't fall in that category in circulated condition. I have 2 nickel books I fill. If they don't fit in there and aren't worth over face, I toss em back. Even 1940s nickels that aren't silver are worth face value.

Search half dollars if you want to actually find coins worth money. I have found a few thousand dollars worth of silver from halves. Most of it from a few lucky hits. I have only ordered a few boxes before. Those are usually a bust.
