I got these in a lot of Asian coins. I know I've seen the crossed blades before but I can't remember the country. Can anyone help with an ID and maybe a date? swords large.jpg swords small.jpg

I'll say it's more towards Nepal.

I have confirmed they are Nepal. Now I'm trying to pin them down. They might be 19th century.

They're actually newer than they look. The smaller one is 1943 2 paisa as best as I can tell. The larger one is 5 paisa from the 1930s. I'm having trouble with the date. The numbers don't look like the guide says they should.

both coins are in my 2010, 1901-2000 Krause catalog. what is the size of both coins in the picture in millimeters ? 1st coin looks like a 1-2 paisa denomination, second coin looks like a 2 paisa.

what I would suggest to you is... if you can not figure out the exact date.... is compare your coins to coins on Ebay if they have them. I have done that before when I could not figure the date for other world coins.

I've always wondered how people measure in millimeters. I don't have a millimeter ruler. I've made my best guess for the dates, assuming what I thought was an 8 was actually a 9. If I'm correct then I have them.

most standard rulers have millimeters on them. I bought a clear 1 so I could see from 1 side of the coin to the other. the older Krause catalogs have coin sizes in millimeter circles in front of the catalogs.

Ah, so it does. The big one is 32, smaller is 23, so they are 5 and 2 paisas.
